I was chatting to my mother in law about my maternity sessions and she was reminiscing about her own pregnancies back in the 80s, in South Africa. I was interested to hear that back then, pregnancies were kept under wraps for as long as possible and women just didn't wear anything that showed off their bellies, there was almost a slight embarrassment. I for one am glad that this has changed. I think pregnancy is absolutely incredible and I love photographing and celebrating the miracle that it is.
One of the things I love about being a Photographer in Kent, is the variety of locations it has to offer. I know every county has lovely places to, but I love scouting out new locations for my shoots. This lovely couple decided on a beach shoot for their maternity session and so we met on Tankerton Beach where it's quieter than neighbouring Whitstable. I love the colourful beach huts and the interesting beach scape, it all made for some stunning shots at sunset.
